Crazytimes - Scott Cole

This book is FUN. It is, as one would expect from the title, an absolutely crazy read. It follows Trey through what starts out as a normal day and ends in all out blood shed and mayhem. I’ve said this before about Cole’s writing, but he is a writer that is easy to read. His voice is conversational and makes readers feel comfortable, even when the story is anything but. I loved the juxtaposition of the action scenes and calm scenes. Going from gore and death to people eating quietly in a restaurant and then straight back to the madness. There was an edition of something closer to the end of the book that, in my opinion, was just too much. I know this book is called Crazytimes but I think with the addition of these things I mentioned, it kind of took me out of the story. It pulled me out of this fictional setting and became almost too crazy for me to picture. That part didn’t work for me, but it would definitely work for other readers, so don’t let that turn you off from this book because it’s a fun read. It’s gory and fast paced and definitely lives up to its title. Scott Cole is an author I’ll always read and recommend for exciting and bizarre reads. 4 Stars.
